Tickets On Sale For Billy Corgan's 'Melon Collie' 30th Anniversary Opera Concerts

"A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness" will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Smashing Pumpkins' third album.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Tickets go on sale this week for "A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness," a historic performance by Billy Corgan and the Lyric Opera of Chicago to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the album from The Smashing Pumpkins.

Corgan, a Highland Park native, will take the stage alongside Lyric's orchestra and chorus for seven nights from Nov. 21 to 30 later this year. Audience members will get to enjoy special guest vocalists during the immersive sonic and visual experience.

"It is thrilling to collaborate with Lyric head John Mangum, my musical partner James Lowe, and all of the artists at Lyric in reimagining this very special and historic album, and to discover how Lyric’s full operatic treatment is helping me experience my own compositions in powerful new ways," Corgan said. "Opera and rock both tell stories of heightened emotions, and I am excited for both fans of my music and traditional opera fans to hear some truly inspired work; for the balance here is to honor both traditions in a magisterial way."
