HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a Coach burse worth about $300 from inside an unlocked Volkswagen at the Dunkin Donuts, 1990 Skokie Valley Road, at some point prior to 9:15 p.m. on March 1.

FUEL THEFT
Staff at the Shell gas station at 1411 Park Ave. West reported that an unidentified motorist purchased drinks and some fuel before pumping an additional $44 worth of gasoline into their car.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Staff at the Dunkin Donuts, 1996 Second St., reported on March 1 that someone damaged the overhead drive-thru structure at the store by pushing it forward and out of alignment between 8 p.m. Feb. 25 and 4 a.m. Feb. 26, leaving the structure scratched and causing unspecified damage.

THEFT
Someone stole a wallet from inside a jacket at Avanti Gallery, 2070 Skokie Valley Road, police were told shortly after noon on March 2. Cash and credit cards were reported stolen, and the cards were later fraudulently used at various stores. The total reported loss was about $9,200.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Larry G. Miller, 39, of the 2000 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested around 9 a.m. on Feb. 28 after turning himself into the Highland Park police department to face charges of criminal trespass to vehicle and theft of less than $300 from a vehicle in connection with a report of a Feb. 18 theft at the Walgreens, 655 Elm Place.

April Paulausky, 31, of the 600 block of Walnut Street, Waukegan, was arrested around 3 a.m. on March 1 and charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding police, a felony, and misdemeanor unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and speeding more than 35 mph over the limit after officers tried to pull her over for speeding in the 1800 block of Skokie Valley Road. Police reported the driver refused to stop for lights and sirens before she was eventually stopped by another agency.
