Winged Pair Blocks Rush Hour Traffic In Highland Park

A pair of swans blocked traffic along Route 41 until they were swiftly rescued.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Traffic on Route 41 in Highland Park was a little backed up during rush hour Monday due to a pair of winged residents in the road.

While on the road, a woman noticed two swans blocking a lane of traffic and swiftly contacted authorities. Officer Mendoza with the Highland Park Police Department quickly made his way to the area to make a swan-derful rescue.

Mendoza was able to collect the beautiful birds and return them to their owner.
