2 Hinsdale Hit-And-Run Drivers Caught: Police

In another case, someone left an unexpected mess at a Hinsdale store.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Hit-and-run crashes

  • Police responded to a hit-and-run crash about noon on New Year's Eve at Ogden Avenue and York Road. The driver left, but Oakbrook Terrace police stopped her on Roosevelt Road at the split for interstates 290 and 294. The woman had open containers of alcohol, straws and a plastic baggy that contained a white powdery substance. She submitted to testing that indicated she was over the legal limit. She was released, pending the results of a lab report.
  • A 52-year-old Davie, Florida, man was cited about 7 p.m. Monday at Washington and North streets on charges of failure to give information to an owner after striking unattended property and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police said the man fled from a crash in Westmont and then hit a tree at North and Washington. He was given a court date and released.

  • A person defecated about 2 p.m. on New Year's Day on the floor of the warehouse area of Walgreens, 15 Grant Square. The case is pending.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 100 block of Chanticleer Lane told police that someone fraudulently used his credit cards between Friday and Sunday. The crime was reported Monday.
