District 86 Schools Receive Energy Star Award

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has recognized Hinsdale Central High School and Hinsdale South High School as Energy Star Label Award recipients.

The award is given to those buildings who have submitted historical energy data to the USEPA, have the data and the buildings certified by a Registered Professional Engineer, and receive an Energy Star rating of 75 or higher.

Both Hinsdale Central High School and Hinsdale South High School received Energy Star rating in the 90s and are two of only forty-eight schools to receive this award in the state of Illinois.

Each building will receive an Energy Star plaque, a certificate of achievement, Statement of Energy Performance, and authorization to use the Energy Star logo on communications from the buildings.
