Clarendon Hills Dentist Publishes First Novel, 'One Man's Castle'
The book by J. Michael Major (D.D.S), who has practiced in Clarendon Hills for 22 years, is about a man who kills the burglars who slew his own wife.

A Clarendon Hills dentist for 22 years, , recently published his first novel, "One Man's Castle," in April, and will be holding a meet-and-greet at the Clarendon Hills Library from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday night, the Doings Hinsdale reports.
According to the paper, Major has been writing for his entire life and published his first short story in a sci-fi magazine in 1989; his novel, which can be found on Amazon, is the story of a man named Walter Buczyno who must go on the run after killing the burglars who broke into his home and slew his wife.
"I like the peacefulness of writing; it’s very therapeutic," Major told the paper. For a novel, he said, "I had to re-learn how to write. With short stories, it’s cut, cut, cut. I had to expand what I wrote for a novel without adding padding."
