Clarendon Hills Team Defeated In World Series Game

The local team will go on to an elimination game.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – The Little League team from Clarendon Hills, representing the Great Lakes Region, lost its first game 16-1 in the World Series, according to a news report.

The score was 16-1. The opponent was Las Vegas, representing the Mountain Region. The game was in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Clarendon Hills will play at 6 p.m. Saturday in an elimination game, according to the Peoria Journal Star. It will face the loser of Thursday's game between South Dakota and Pennsylvania, the newspaper said.

Last week, Clarendon Hills, representing Illinois, defeated Ohio 9-4 for the Great Lakes championship. The players are 12 and under.

Play at the World Series will be divided into two brackets — one for U.S. competition and the other for international.
