Exciting One Day Workshops at The Children's Theatre of Western Springs

The Children’s Theatre of Western Springs continues its 70th anniversary season with Pay Your Age Classes for students who want to give acting a try and Saturday Intensives for students who’re interested in gaining more knowledge about their favorite performing arts subjects.

Pay Your Age Classes cost just one dollar per year of a student’s age! These exciting workshops allow students to meet members The Children’s Theatre of Western Springs’ dynamic and nurturing faculty and get a sense of what a typical class is like. Students of all experience levels are welcome. Advance registration is required.

Four dates are available to Pay Your Age:

• October 12, 4pm to 5pm: 1st-4th grade Theatre Games
• October 19, 4pm to 5pm: 5th-8th grade Theatre Games
• October 28, 5pm to 6pm: 1st-4th grade Musical Theatre
• November 4, 5pm to 6pm: 5th-8th grade Musical Theatre

Saturday Intensives are a great way for students to expand their theatre knowledge. CTWS is offering two exciting intensives this fall.

Stage Combat for 5th-8th graders is a fast and fun workshop all about fighting and falling.

Professional violence designers, R&D Choreography, will lead students through exercises that teach them how to make stage violence look convincing all while staying completely safe. This is a great introduction to a skill that will help actors for years to come. Stage Combat is Saturday, October 3 from 11am to 1pm. Tuition is $75.

Next up is a Broadway Dance Party for 3rd-5th graders! Students in this lively Saturday Intensive will sing and dance to high energy show tunes as they learn about favorite Broadway musicals. No experience? No problem! Just bring your voice, your dancing feet, and be ready for fun! The Broadway Dance Party is Saturday, October 24, 11am to 1pm. Tuition is $75.
