The event will feature puppy playtime in which visitors can spend time playing with adoptable pups at the shelter, and enjoy “pup”cakes and lemonade, while learning about the importance of Adopt Don’t Shop during Adopt-a-Dog month.

“October Adopt-a-Dog month is a national acknowledgement of the importance of adopting shelter and rescue dogs who need homes,” said Jennifer Vlazny, Operations Manager, HHS. “We’re kicking off the month at our shelter by hosting a puppy party to help raise awareness of the wonderful pets in need of homes.”
