Hinsdale Eatery Wants Liquor Expansion
The restaurant is seeking a broader beer and wine license.
HINSDALE, IL – Toni Patisserie & Cafe, a French restaurant, wants to expand the scope of its beer and wine license.
In 2021, the village approved the sale of packaged beer and wine at the restaurant, 51 S. Washington St.
At Tuesday's Village Board meeting, Steve Rennau, the restaurant's operations director, asked for the village to allow Toni Patisserie to be able to serve beer and wine to customers in the dining room.

"We are simply responding to requests from our customers," Rennau said. "We thought it would be a great way to grow our business."
In a letter to the Village Board, the restaurant said the restaurant's dine-in business has grown a lot in the past couple of years.

The initial plan, the letter said, is to offer five wines served by the glass – two red wines, two white wines and one sparkling wine.
Because the restaurant is not open during traditional dinner hours, it said it doesn't expect the broader license would result in a lot more income.
The Village Board had no objection to the expanded liquor license.
