Hinsdale Police Make 2 DUI Arrests in Independence Day Crackdown

The campaign was funded by federal traffic safety funds.

HINSDALE, IL — The Hinsdale Police Department made two drunk-driving arrests during the recent Independence Day crackdown.

Police also issued 22 citations for speeding, and one person was arrested for possession of alcohol by a person under 21.

One of the DUI arrests involved additional charges for driving while license suspended, impersonating a parole officer and obstruction of justice.

Officers issued 12 citations for other violations to the Illinois vehicle code during the enforcement campaign. They also issued 11 warnings to drivers for IVC violations.

The Hinsdale Police Department joined forces with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners throughout the state in the Illinois Independence Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown.

The crackdown, part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns, was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
