As part of the village's procedure, the police conduct background checks on those requesting liquor licenses. The police said they found nothing that would prohibit Fatouros from receiving a liquor license.

Thassos in Palos Hills has had no liquor license suspensions or revocations, according to a police memo.

The village's documents did not indicate when the local restaurant would open.
