Room and Board Oak Brook Hosts R.E.A.D. with the Dogs Event
The Hinsdale Humane Society and Room and Board Oak Brook event will take place Feb. 27.

Hinsdale, IL - Hinsdale Humane Society brings together families and dogs at Room & Board Oak Brook, 2525 22nd St, on Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a special R.E.A.D. with the Dogs event.
R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) is a program in which Delta/Pet Partner-registered animals visit libraries, schools and other learning programs to work with children on their reading skills.

At this free event, children ages pre-K through 4th grade will participate in story-time sessions and have an opportunity to interact with R.E.A.D. dogs.
HHS therapy teams will be present at this event to read to the children. Kym Iffert, HHS Obedience Instructor, will present dog demonstrations on a variety of dog-related topics, such as how to approach a dog and how to interact effectively with dogs.

A special appearance by children’s author Nancy Gee features readings of her book, “The Secret Drawer,” about her cat Odis and a series of his adventures. Attendees can also look forward to goody bags and a special raffle featuring a Room & Board children’s Tilly Chair.
