VIDEO: Not Advancing to 'Jeopardy!' Finals, But Hinsdale Central Teen Is Still Grateful

Clarendon Hills resident Lindsey Thiesfeld watched the semifinal air Friday, while surrounded by her friends.

A Hinsdale Central teen's run on Jeopardy! has come to an end. Sophomore Lindsey Thiesfeld made it to the semifinals of the show's teen tournament, but did not get enough points to make it to the finals.

Although she did not win the tournament, she said the experience was worth all the effort it took to get there.

"I always have been the kid who pays attention and cares about school. Though that might not be the coolest thing, it's something that I value," said Thiesfeld.

"Not many people get that far, and it was just really exciting to know someone who was smart enough to get that far," said Jessica Reid.

Thiesfeld's parents were there for the taping in California and taped every episode of the compeition in which Lindsey appeared.

"We are thrilled and proud of her," said Michele Thiesfeld, Lindsey's mother.  How can we be disappointed? It was a great experience."
