Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm Looking For Seasonal Hires For Fall Fest

HOMER GLEN, IL — Summer is still sticking around, but Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen is already preparing for its annual fall fest.

The pumpkin farm said it has already started hiring for the fest, and applications are available online.

The 2025 fall fest will run from Sept. 5 to Nov. 2, the business said. The fest will be closed Sept. 8-Sept. 11. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m.t o 8:30 p.m. on Columbus Day.

All employees must be 16 by opening day, must be available on weekends, must be able to work at least 15 hours per week and must work the whole season. There are several positions available, which Bengtson's has provided information about below:

Managerial Positions:

• Food Manager (21+). Proficiency in food service systems and a Food Manager Certificate are required. This is a seasonal position.
• Parking Manager (21+). This is a seasonal, weekend-only position.

Other positions:

• Bakers (18+). Must stand for entire shift.
• Bartender (21+). BASSET certification preferred.
• Bar Back (18+)
• Donut Boxer in Bakery (16+). Must stand for entire shift.
• Cashier (16+)
• Clean Team (16+)
• Exit Monitor (18+). Must be comfortable asking customers for their receipts to make sure products were purchased-like at Costco.
• Farm Troop (16+). Must stand for entire shift. You will help keep the farm departments stocked with product.
• Food Runner (16+). Pours pop and hands out food orders to customers, must stand for entire shift.
• Haunted Barn (16+). Must stay alert and be attentive while watching the cameras.
• Hay Rides (16+). Will need to stand for entire shift. Must be vigilant.
• Parking (16+). Will need to stand for entire shift. Weekends and Columbus Day only.
• Popcorn Maker (16+). Will need to stand for entire shift.
• Pumpkin Guard (16+). Will need to stand and walk for entire shift.
• Pumpkin Launcher (21+)
• Ride Operators (18+ years old) higher pay and background check required.
• Ride Assistant (16+). Will need to stand for entire shift.
• Selfie Booth (16+). Will need to interact with customers and help get kids to look at the camera and smile.
• Tractor Drivers (21+ years old). Higher pay and experience required.
