Homer Glen Officials Move to New Village Hall This Week

Village of Homer Glen officials are making a move this week.

As of Thursday, the current Homer Glen Village Hall will be no more.

But never fear, this week's move is one marked by bigger and better things. The current village hall, 14933 S. Founders Crossing, will officially close on Friday after its crew moves to a new facility on the former Woodbine golf course property.

The village bought the site — complete with a banquet hall and clubhouse — in December 2013. Residents have since expressed excitement about the innumerable possibilities for the 103-acre plot, which is located at 14240 W. 151st. St.

The former banquet area and clubhouse have been renovated to make way for the new hall, allowing officials to move out of their leased space in the shopping center at Founders Crossing and Bell Road.

The new village hall will open to the public on Monday, July 18, when its normal business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. will resume.

However, the space will remain under construction until early August. Local officials have asked residents to "pardon our dust."
