Homer Glen Plans Kids Fall Fishing Derby
There are still openings for session 2 of the event, which will run from 10 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 12.
HOMER GLEN, IL — The Village of Homer Glen is gearing up for its kids fall fishing derby, set for Oct. 12 at Heritage Park Pond, 14240 W. 151st St.
The Village said the first kids fishing derby in July was such a success, that the tradition will continue for the fall.
The autumn event will run from 8 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 12, and kids 15 and under are invited to participate. It is $5 per angler, and pre-registration is required.

There are still openings for session 2 of the event, which will run from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants may only register for one session and must bring their own fishing gear, according to the Village.
The Village said this is a catch-and-release event, with judges on hand to count and measure the fish. Prizes will be awarded for most fish caught and longest fish.

Anglers should bring sunscreen, a chair, towel and weather-appropriate clothing.
