Homer Glen Winter Weather: Parking Restrictions, Snow Plowing

In Homer Glen, parking restrictions go into place after two inches of snow has fallen.

HOMER GLEN, IL — With the possibility of a winter storm next week, the Village of Homer Glen is reminding residents about snow parking restrictions.

A strong storm system, bringing accumulating wet snow, is possible Monday night and Tuesday for the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service. There is still uncertainty about the storm's track and strength, and about the lack of deep cold air in the region.

Restrictions call for cars to be moved off the street within the first 12 hours after snowfall, to allow for plows to clear the roads of snow, according to the Village.

As for snow plowing, the priority schedule includes major intersections, then school bus routes, then primary collector streets, and finally feeder streets, cul-de-sacs and dead ends.
