Lockport Celebrates 50th Anniversary Of Downtown Historic District

LOCKPORT, IL — 50 years ago, Lockport was officially designated a historic district and placed on the National Register of Historic Places. To celebrate the milestone, Main Street Lockport will host a 50th anniversary celebration at the ROXY Lockport Theater, 1017 S. State St., from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 10.

The special celebration will highlight the formation of the historic district, major renovations over the decades and the ongoing efforts to preserve Lockport’s architectural treasures, according to a release. Distinguished speakers at the event will include Jerry Adelmann, Ron Lif, and Lance Thies, each offering unique insights into Lockport’s remarkable journey from canal town to heritage destination.

Tickets are $25, and there is limited seating. Tickets include one drink, appetizers and anniversary cake.
