LTHS Board Approves 2025-26 School Year Calendar
The first day of the 2025-26 school year will be Aug. 18.
LOCKPORT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Lockport Township High School Board of Education approved school calendars for the 2025-26 school year and the 2026-27 school year.
Superintendent Robert McBride said some of the new things on the calendar include no student attendance for the week of Thanksgiving.
"We've learned that since all of our feeder districts do that, it's really caused some attendance problems; and that's not a blame, it's just a reality," McBride said.

The District surveyed parents about the school year calendar, and one of the most important things parents wanted was alignment in the calendar with the feeder districts, McBride said.
