LTHS Board Approves Design Work For Summer 2026 Projects At Central Campus
Summer 2026 construction projects would include the replacement of the remaining roof, electrical work, window replacement and tuck-pointing
LOCKPORT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Lockport Township High School Board of Education approved a memorandum of understanding for design work for 2026 summer construction at LTHS' Central Campus.
Construction at Central has been ongoing since a classroom ceiling collapsed in 2023. LTHS freshmen moved to Lincoln-Way North for the remainder of the school year, and Central reopened for the 2024-25 school year. However, work has continued at the 100-year-old campus since then.
According to Board documents, the memorandum of understanding is with DLA Architects, Ltd. Design work will be done for summer construction projects, including replacing the remaining roof at Central, window replacement, tuck-pointing the exterior brick walls, and replacing the electrical systems.

"This construction project aims to finish all construction-related items listed in the 2025 Healthy and Life Safety amendment number 10," Board documents state.
When the schematic design documents are finished, the construction manager can then provide an estimate of the cost of the work, according to Board documents.
