LTHS Board Honors National Merit Commended Students

LOCKPORT, IL — At the LTHS D205 Board of Education's Nov. 18 meeting, 12 senior students were recognized for their selection as Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

According to the District, East Campus Principal Jacqueline Johnson presented a letter of Commendation to the students from LTHS D205 and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program.

Although they will not continue in the 2025 competition for National Merit Scholarships, about 34,000 Commended Students nationwide are recognized for their exceptional academic promise, the District said.

LTHS' National Merit Commended students are: Jacob R. Bobek, James A. Byers, Michael W. Dierkes, Cat Frischkorn, Aidan M. Gerritsen, Abigail K. Hogan, Caden S. Nommensen, James A. Novak, Kevin D. Smolinski, Kayden A. Tigges, Jason R. Witek and Justin M. Worachek.
