Oak Prairie Eighth Grade Girls Basketball Finishes Fourth In State
The team finished in the final four of the state tournament last year as well.
LOCKPORT, IL — At the IESA eighth grade girls basketball state final tournament last month, the team from Oak Prairie in Lockport took fourth place.
According to the IESA website, the team was defeated by Danville's North Ridge in the semifinals, sending the team to the third-place match-up. Lockport lost to Morton in the third-place match, by 6 points, to take fourth at the tournament.
The team is coached by Carly Whiteford and Avery Lochow, according to the District newsletter. The team finished in the final four of the state tournament last year as well.

According to the District, team members were: Josephine Baranowski, Mackenzie Egelhof, Kailey Gieser, Anna Higham, Quinn Higham, Evelyn Ingram, Bryar Jensen, Anna Lundstedt, Rowan McCarter and Katelyn Peetz.
