Residents Can Thank Matteson for Gaseous Whiffs Throughout Homer Glen Tuesday
Homer Glen officials issued an alert Tuesday saying they were aware of the seemingly ever-present smell of gas in the community.
HOMER GLEN, IL - Local officials said Tuesday that they were aware of the ubiquitous smell of gas throughout the community.
"Nicor believes the gas smell is coming from a natural gas pipe line system in Matteson that was vented to the atmosphere and, due to the prevailing winds, is drifting through the southwest suburbs," their alert continued.
Regardless, residents smelling a strong gaseous odor are urged to call 911.
