Severe Storm Warning Issued For Will County
The storm warning is in effect until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
WILL COUNTY, IL — 60 mph winds are possible with a severe thunderstorm warning on Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
At 1:58 p.m., a severe storm was located over Shorewood, moving northeast at 30 mph, according to the weather service. Quarter-sized hail is also possible with this storm.
Hail damage to cars is expected, and wind damage to roofs, siding and trees is possible.

The weather service said locations impacted include Joliet, Bolingbrook, Orland Park, Romeoville, Plainfield, Woodridge, Lockport, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Channahon, Crest Hill, Shorewood, Ingalls Park, Fairmont, Rockdale and Crystal Lawns.

The weather service said that scattered storms would develop Thursday afternoon across northern Illinois, into the early evening hours. Some of these storms could be severe.

The storms are most likely between 3 and 7 p.m., with additional non-severe storms possible overnight, according to the weather service.
