Where To See Santa In Homer Glen, Lockport This Christmas Season

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — Now that Thanksgiving is over, many families have turned thoughts to the Christmas season and annual traditions. Visits and pictures with Santa are a treasured memory for many Lemont families. For them, there’s nothing quite like seeing jolly old St. Nick live and in person.

In Homer Glen and Lockport, families have several chances:

• Christmas in the Square, 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 at 222 E. Ninth St., in Lockport. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as other Christmas characters. There will be an artificial ice rink, ice sculpture demonstration and other live entertainment.
• Homer for the Holidays, 2 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 3, at Heritage Park, 14240 W. 151st St., Homer Glen. There will be photos with Santa, costumed characters, food trucks, crafts, a holiday market and more.
• Santa Parade, Dec. 9 in Homer Glen. Details to come on the route around town.
• Storytime with Santa: Reading "Twilight: A Reindeer Story" by Adam Woodworth. 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Lockport Library, 121 E. Eighth St.

Santa arrived Nov. 5 at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Santa’s Wonderland and will hold court through Christmas Eve. Reservations are encouraged.

Santa will also be at Macy’s stores in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Orlando. In Chicago, Santa will be at the downtown Chicago Macy's, on the 5th floor at 111 N. State Street starting in November and continuing through the holidays. Reservations are required, and more details are available here.

JC Penney stores, including stores in Orland Park, Lombard, Mokena and Joliet are offering professional portraits with Santa through Dec. 18.
