Woman, 79, Killed In Lockport Fire Identified: Coroner
The woman died after a fire last month at a Lockport condo building.

ILLINOIS — The woman who died in a Feb. 27 fire at a condo building in Lockport has been identified as 79-year-old Mary Lou Arnold, the Will County Coroner's Office announced this week.
Firefighters responded to the fire in the 1100 block of Division Street just after 8:30 p.m. and found a fire in one of the first-floor units. Crews found Arnold unresponsive, and pulled her from the blaze before she was rushed to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where she was pronounced dead at 9:04 p.m.
All other occupants were safely evacuated, with no additional injuries reported, Deputy Fire Chief Frank Blaskey said. Firefighters were quickly able to get the blaze under control, according to officials.

While the fire was contained to a single unit, the other occupants were unable to stay in the building due to smoke damage.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
