1 At Large After Cops Chase Stolen Car From Matteson to Flossmoor

FLOSSMOOR, IL — A car chase Monday night ended with one person in custody and one still at large after police followed a reported stolen vehicle from Matteson to Flossmoor, officials said.

According to a press release, a vehicle was stolen in Matteson on Monday evening and driven to the area of Flossmoor Road and Western Avenue while being chased by police cars and a helicopter.

When the car reached Flossmoor, officials said two people got out and fled on foot. Police were able to catch one but the other had still not been located as of Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the suspect still at-large is not a threat to the public, but did not immediately respond to questions on how they determined that.

The Flossmoor Police Department is assisting Matteson police in their investigation.
