1 Minor Injured In Flossmoor Shooting, Other Kids Involved: FPD

According to Flossmoor police, officers found a juvenile with a gunshot wound Saturday night and identified other minors at the scene.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — One person under 18 years old was injured in a shooting late Saturday night, police told Patch.

According to Flossmoor police, officers were called to Parker Junior High School on Saturday at around 9:15 p.m. Police Chief Tod Kamleiter said a nearby resident was the one who called 9-1-1.

When officers arrived, Kamleiter said they found one person with a gunshot wound along with at least two other minors. The person was taken to a local hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

Kamleiter said police are working to determine how many people were involved in the incident. So far, he said, everyone who has been identified at the scene has been a juvenile.

Police told Patch they believe the shooting was targeted and that there is no threat to the community as of Monday night. Illinois State Police officials were also on the scene to help gather evidence.
