2 Coronavirus Deaths Reported In Hazel Crest

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the deaths of a 79-year-old man and 74-year-old man.

HAZEL CREST, IL — Two men died as a result of the new coronavirus in Hazel Crest on Thursday. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the deaths of a 74-year-old man and 79-year-old man.

The 74-year-old died as a result of pneumonia due to the coronavirus infection with multiple myeloma as a contributing factor, the medical examiner's office said.

The 79-year-old died as a result of acute hypoxic hypercapnic respiratory failure due to the coronavirus infection with hypertensive cardiovascular disease as a contributing factor, according to the medical examiner's office.
