2 Coronavirus Deaths Reported In Olympia Fields

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed two deaths due to the new coronavirus in Olympia Fields.

OLYMPIA FIELDS, IL — Two women died from the new coronavirus in Olympia Fields on Wednesday. The two deaths were among six total deaths reported Thursday by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

A 63-year-old woman died as a result of bronchopneumonia due to the coronavirus infection with hypertensive and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease and COPD as contributing factors, the Medical Examiner's Office said.

A 72-year-old woman also died as a result of bronchopneumonia due to the coronavirus infection with hypertensive and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus as contributing factors.

It's not known in which municipality either of the women lived, and the Medical Examiner could not say whether the deaths occurred at the hospital in Olympia Fields or elsewhere in the village.

Both deaths are reported as natural.

There have now been 19 deaths in Cook County related to the coronavirus, the Medical Examiner's Office said.

In Illinois, there were 673 new coronavirus cases reported on Thursday.
