2 Suspects Shot During Firearms Raid in Chicago Heights

ATF and Chicago police were on the scene Monday night.


Chicago Police and federal ATF agents shot two suspects at about 5 p.m. Monday night during a firearms raid in Chicago Heights, reports CBS Chicago, citing ATF sources who say one of the men pointed a gun at the law. The raid and gunfire took place near 15th Street and Donovan.

Three suspects were taken into custody, including the two who were wounded in the legs, reports Fox Chicago, which had a reporter on the scene tweeting photos. Their wounds are not life-threatening. Witnesses nearby said they heard three shots fired.

ATF agents were arranging to sell guns to three men when the men drew their weapons, according to Fox, and this is part of a larger investigation into weapons trafficking.

One of the men arrested will appear in federal court on Tuesday.
