2 Women Shot, Killed Inside Park Forest Home: Police

Two children were also found unharmed inside the home Thursday evening, police said.

PARK FOREST, IL — Police are investigating after two women were found shot inside their Park Forest home Thursday evening.

On Thursday, Dec. 26 at approximately 6:08 p.m., Park Forest police were called to the 300 block of Miami Street to investigate a report of a gunshot victim inside the residence. Police found two women shot, and two unharmed children also inside the home. One woman was dead at the scene; the other died shortly later, police said. The children were taken to local hospitals for medical treatment as a precaution.

The women—identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Lillian Brown, 51, and Sabrina McCain, 30—are both listed as living at the home.

An initial investigation indicates this was an isolated incident, as the victims and the suspect were acquainted with each other. It was not immediately clear Friday if police have a person of interest. This is an active investigation and more information will be made available at a later time, police said.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force has been activated, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit was called to assist the Park Forest Investigations Unit.
