3 Homewood Paramedics Self-Quarantine After Coronavirus Exposure

The paramedics were exposed to the new coronavirus while responding to a call in Homewood.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Three village of Homewood paramedics are self-quarantining after they were exposed to a patient who later tested positive for the new coronavirus. The paramedics were exposed while responding to a call in Homewood, according to the village.

The Region 7 Project Medical Director at Ingalls for South Cook County EMS told village officials the paramedics were sent home for self-quarantine and will be tested if they experience any symptoms of the coronavirus. They will remain home for the entire two-week quarantine period, officials said.

Statewide, there have been 1,535 confirmed coronavirus cases and 16 deaths reported.
