Unlawful Firearm
Solomon Richards, 32, of the 18400 block of Cherry Creek Drive in Homewood, was charged with unlawful use of a handgun, driving with one headlight and driving without insurance, according to a report. Police stopped Richards at about 11:32 p.m. near 18162 Harwood Ave., when they noticed he had only one working headlight. An officer reported smelling marijuana in the vehicle. Police found a fully loaded, silver Smith and Wesson .357 revolver with "MON P.D." engraved near the trigger. Richards does not have a Firearm Owners Identification card. He is due in Markham court on May 8.

Burglary On Elder Road
Someone broke into an apartment in the 900 block of Elder Road and took numerous items, according to a report. The victim believes it happened sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 4:40 p.m.
Willow School Field Damaged
Someone drove on a field at Willow School, 1804 Willow Rd, damaging about 13,800 square feet of grass, according to a report. Police believe this happened sometime between noon April 6 and 11:09 a.m. April 8. Tire grooves were found in the field.
