Homewood is introducing nine new events this year including a few food and drink experiences in the heart of downtown Homewood, a giant Touch-A-Truck event where children, families, and neighbors can gather to interact with massive trucks, emergency vehicles and more, a sidewalk chalk art festival to garner artists and viewers of all ages and areas to downtown Homewood and create masterpieces using chalk outside of the Gottschalk House, an H-F day at the Chicago White Sox game where Homewood and Flossmoor will compete for ticket sales and the winning town’s Mayor gets to throw the first pitch of the game, and Chuck It For Charity where proceeds of garage sale permits and a percentage of sales of the assigned day will go to local non-profit organizations in Homewood.

"When brainstorming the events for the year, Marla and I wanted to encompass all of what we love about Homewood which is a huge sense of community," said Communications and Engagement Specialist Antonia Urbanski. "We are excited to reintroduce all of the events residents have grown to love over the years and sprinkle a few new events into the mix that focus on having fun while giving back to the community and local businesses."
