100 Citations Issued In Flossmoor PD's Holiday Season Traffic Safety Push
Flossmoor police on Thursday announced the results of recent traffic safety enforcement efforts.
FLOSSMOOR, IL — Flossmoor police this week released the results of a recent, ramped up traffic safety enforcement campaign.
The Flossmoor Police Department teamed up with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to conduct a focused traffic safety campaign throughout the holiday season to, "remind area motorists to Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, Drive High. Get a DUI and Click It or Ticket."
From Dec. 12 through Jan. 5, officers focused on removing impaired drivers from roads and ensuring that motorists and passengers were properly buckled. The goal was to prevent crashes and to save lives.

“We can’t stress it enough: impaired driving is a deadly gamble, no matter where you live,” says Flossmoor Police Chief Carl Estelle. “Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis or any other drug, driving impaired is illegal, irresponsible and it puts lives at risk."
This campaign was administered by IDOT with federal highway safety funds, managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It was a part of Illinois’ broader It’s Not a Game statewide media outreach program. For more information, please contact Flossmoor Police Sgt. Mark Cagle at 708-957- 4500 or mcagle@flossmoor.org.
