AMBER Alert Canceled, Dolton Teen Found Safe

Police said the kidnapper crashed their Ford Five Hundred sedan on I-94 while fleeing with 15-year-old Antaneya Smith.

DOLTON, IL — An AMBER Alert issued late Monday night was canceled around 3:30 a.m. after 15-year-old Antaneya Smith was found safe, Illinois State Police said. No other details were provided after police said she was abducted by a kidnapper who caused a crash on I-94 that injured a state trooper, then fled.

According to the alert, Smith was kidnapped around 2:42 p.m. Monday by an unknown suspect wearing a mask and driving a black 2005 Ford Five Hundred sedan. The license plate on the vehicle is DG20425.

The vehicle has front-end damage sustained in the crash Monday afternoon on I-94, according to police.

Dolton police were pursuing the Ford on northbound I-94 at 87th Street when a trooper spotted the vehicle. Police said the Ford sideswiped another vehicle, pushing it into the state trooper's squad car before fleeing. The Ford was last seen heading north.
