Advocate South Suburban Hospital collected more than 200 toys in just three days to donate today to South Suburban Toys for Kids, a holiday project of LBD Enterprises. Hospital associates, physicians and volunteers pitched in after they received the last-minute message that Toys for Kids was in desperate need of donations to meet their goal of 50,000 toys.
The toys will help fulfill the many requests to Hazel Crest based LBD Enterprises from Southland churches, social services and day care centers in Advocate South Suburban Hospital’s service area. Without further donations like the one from the hospital, many of the area’s neediest children may be empty-handed on Christmas morning.
“Our Advocate South Suburban Hospital family knows that generosity can make an invaluable impact on the joy and happiness of a family, especially the children at this celebratory time of the year,” said Rev. Larry Jackson, vice president of mission and spiritual care at the hospital. “Our physicians, associates and volunteers jumped at the chance to help a local organization help local children during this season of giving.”
