Auditions Set For 'The SpongeBob Musical' At Homewood Theatre

23 Miles South Theatre will hold auditions Friday, March 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.

HOMEWOOD, IL — 23 Miles South Theatre announces auditions for The SpongeBob Musical on Friday, March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. Roles are available for actors ages 7 to 18. All actors must be under age 19 by May 30. Auditions will be held on the 23 Miles South stage in the lower level of Abundant Grace Church, 18200 Dixie Highway, Homewood.

Performances will be held May 30 and 31.

Actors should prepare the upbeat song of their choice to be sung a cappella, or bring their own music. A cold reading from the script will be provided. There are a few roles that do not require singing. Acting experience is not required to audition. There is no fee to actors to participate in the production. Please enter through the west side, downstairs door.

23 Miles South Theatre is a community theatre in Homewood that was founded in 2010, according to its website. The theatre is producing The SpongeBob Musical after winning Concord Theatricals' Sing Like a Sponge: The SpongeBob Musical Contest. In celebration of 25 years of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants. In addition to providing particulars about their theatre, applicants were asked: How do your students demonstrate SpongeBob’s endless positivity and spirit in their community? Ten winners were selected from applicants across the US and Canada.
