Best Ice Cream Place Near Homewood-Flossmoor: Readers Pick

HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — We asked Homewood-Flossmoor Patch readers this week to give us their best ice cream place recommendations. And the results on your favorite spots are now in. With National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, Patch rounded up Homewood-Flossmoor area favorites.

It was a close call, but out of 32 votes, Chicago Heights' Zarlengo's Soft Serve reined the top frozen treat selection in town. Those who voted Zarlengo's said it's their go-to for Italian ice.

"Real cream in the soft serve. Real fruits in the Italian ice. The gelato is the best, even better than the expensive stuff in the five star hot la in Vegas," one voter said. "Great variety of flavors, combos, and specialties," another voter said.

Zarlengo's is located at 257 W. Joe Orr Road, Chicago Heights.
