Boy Scouts Revise Policy on Gay Membership
After over 100 years of exclusion, gay youths will now officially be allowed to participate in the Boy Scouts of America.

In a historic decision, the Boy Scouts of America will now allow openly gay youths to be members of the organization, reports CNN.
Over 60 percent of the 1,400-member national council voted in favor of the change at an annual meeting last Thursday. The new policy will take effect Jan. 1.
Despite it’s newer, kinder attitude towards gay scouts, however, the BSA still stands resolute on its ban of gay leaders.

"The resolution also reinforces that Scouting is a youth program, and any sexual conduct, whether heterosexual or homosexual, by youth of Scouting age is contrary to the virtues of Scouting," reads a statement from the BSA.
