Calumet City Man Charged With Murder In Glenwood Liquor Store Shooting

A 27-year-old Calumet City man is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 52-year-old Chicago Heights man, police said.

GLENWOOD, IL — A Calumet City man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Glenwood liquor store employee earlier this week, police announced Wednesday.

Antonio D. Diggines, 27, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the Sept. 9 fatal shooting of a Glenwood liquor store employee.

Police said Diggines is charged in the shooting of Naveen Singh, 52, of Chicago Heights, that took place at Emporium Liquors, at 339 E. Glenwood Lansing Rd. in Glenwood. Singh was shot Sept. 9 around 6:45 p.m. following an altercation with Diggines. Singh was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Diggines was scheduled for a detention hearing at the Markham courthouse.
