Shots Fired At Car In Targeted Incident Easter Morning: Homewood Police

The shots were fired in the 900 block of Elder early Sunday.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A car was damaged by multiple rounds of gunfire in what police called a targeted incident Sunday, according to a release.

On Sunday around 9:30 a.m., police were called for a report of shots fired in the 900 block of Elder Road. Police searched the area and found several spent shell casings. The suspect(s) fled before police arrived.

A preliminary investigation indicates the incident was not random, and there is not an ongoing threat to the public at this time, police said. No injuries were reported. Homewood police are investigating.
