HOMEWOOD, IL — A car was damaged by multiple rounds of gunfire in what police called a targeted incident Sunday, according to a release. On Sunday around 9:30 a.m., police were called for a report of shots fired in the 900 block of Elder Road. Police searched the area and found several spent shell casings. The suspect(s) fled before police arrived. A preliminary investigation indicates the incident was not random, and there is not an ongoing threat to the public at this time, police said. No injuries were reported. Homewood police are investigating. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit at 708-206-3420.
