Charity Baseball Game Benefits The Cancer Support Center
The event will kick off on Aug. 20 at Ozinga Field.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A charity baseball game will be held at Ozinga Field as the two teams, The Jetson and The Flintstones, come together to Knock Cancer Out of the Park, with proceeds to benefit The Cancer Support Center.
On Aug. 20, local men will be hosting the event. New this year, come early, when the gates open to enjoy a pre-game show with Chicagoland’s one and only Joe “Elvis” Tirrito. He will be entertaining the crowd prior to the first pitch. The center exists to provide strength, guidance and support to anyone impacted by cancer — whoever and wherever they are.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in advance at Ozinga Field or at either of The Cancer Support Center offices for $10 per person, children five and under are free. You can also purchase your tickets at the field that evening, gates and ticket sales open at 5:30 p.m.

The center says its programs and services are created and delivered personally, virtually and in ideal settings by professional therapists, counselors, nutritionists and healthcare experts and its resources are available and accessible to all through many communities, channels and tools.
"We are able to provide all of this at no cost to our participants near and far because of the dedication of our donors, benefactors, volunteers and friends who know how critical this depth of support is for people to not just survive, but to thrive," the center states.

The Center has two locations, 19645 S. LaGrange Road, Mokena, and 2028 Elm Road, Homewood.
