Chicago Man Drunk When He Drove Into Homewood Fire Hydrant: Cops
Police said the 34-year-old was arrested at 6 a.m. on March 6 after he crashed into a fire hydrant.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A Chicago man was under the influence of alcohol when he drove into a fire hydrant earlier this month, Homewood police told Patch.
The man, identified as 34-year-old Quentin Lawrence, was arrested shortly at 6 a.m. Mar. 6 near the intersection of Maple Road and Ashland Avenue.
According to police, Lawrence drove his car off the road and hit a fire hydrant. When officers were investigating the crash, they found Lawrence did not have valid insurance for the vehicle, did not attempt to brake and was also under the influence of alcohol.

Police did not immediately respond to questions on how much money the village would have to pay to repair the hydrant, which can usually cost thousands of dollars.
