'Negotiations Are Ongoing' Between the Flossmoor Education Association and D161

Flossmoor School District 161 and the Flossmoor Education Association are continuing contract negotiations through the summer. The two sides released a statement detailing their progress so

Members of Flossmoor School District 161 and the Flossmoor Education Association (FEA) are working to arrive at a contract agreement before the current one ends come August.

Negotiations have been going on since April, however, they are taking a bit more work due to some organizational changes, according to a joint release between SD161 and the FEA.

“The process is a bit more involved because the teachers and support staff have merged their associations and, therefore, we are working to combine two bargaining agreements into one,” they said in the release.

Several future meeting dates set to continue negotiations, according to the district’s website.

“The Board of Education appreciates the hard work the FEA representatives have put into the process and believe that both teams will continue to work hard towards settling the new contract,” the statement concluded.
