'Disturbance' At Homewood Walmart: Police

Officials said social media reports of a shooting at the Homewood Walmart were false.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Police responded to what officials called a "disturbance" at the Homewood Walmart store, 17550 S. Halsted St., just before 3:40 p.m. Friday.

Deputy Chief Kelly Strayer told Patch that "social media reports of an active shooter are not accurate" and that no shooting occurred.

Police are still investigating the initial disturbance call, Strayer said.
