Flossmoor Hit With Rash Of Car Thefts, Car Break-ins, Police Warn

Flossmoor police alerted residents on Tuesday night to a dozen car burglaries and multiple stolen vehicles.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Flossmoor police warned residents Tuesday night of an uptick in stolen cars and car break-ins.

Over a 24-hour span this week, the Village had over a dozen reported burglaries from motor vehicles and multiple stolen vehicles. Additional incidents have been reported in surrounding communities, the Village said in an eCop alert.

  • Lock your vehicles at all times, even when parked at home.
  • Remove valuables or keep them out of sight.
  • Park in a garage or a well-lit area whenever possible.
  • Turn on exterior lights to enhance visibility around your property.
  • Regularly check your residential surveillance cameras for any unusual activity.
