HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — Flossmoor officials announced Village Hall and other associated offices are closed through Jan. 2 in response to rising COVID-19 cases.

Residents will still be able to get in touch with village officials, but public works field visits will be suspended until the new year. Flossmoor police will still take reports in person when needed, but will be socially distanced when they do, said Village Manager Bridget Watchel.

"We need to slow the spread of COVID, not only for the health of staff, but to ensure the Village can continue to provide essential services to the public," Wachtel said in a news release. "We are also implementing other internal protocols to protect Village staff and will re-evaluate our mitigation efforts after the new year."
